History of the domain :

For 5 generations now, the Brechet vine harvesting. They are key players in the appellation Châteauneuf-du-pape in the southern Rhône valley. They have purchased the Château de Vaudieu in 1955, the Domaine des Bosquets in the AOC gigondas in 1963, Domaine de la Jérôme and the Château de la Coulerette (AOC Côtes de Provence) in 1969.

Origin: The name  "Vaudieu " comes from the Val Dieu, an area blessed by the Gods with slopes and terraces over 250 years old. The Château was one of the 4 largest estates in theappellation. With the help of Gabriel Meffre, the size of the estate reached 70 hectares in 1960.

Today: Thanks to a two-hundred-year-old Lebanese cedar, he watches over 32 parcels of vines that grow on the estate's sandy, pebble, limestone and white earth soils. The blend of most wines is composed of 22% of Roussanne60% of white Grenache, 11% of Clairette7% of Bourboulenc and 6% de Picardan (an ancient white grape variety) sharing the grape varieties. The old white Grenache grapes, one of the estate's prides, grow on a terrace of rolled pebbles, bringing strength and fullness to the wines.

Domaine Vaudieu's great vintages:

  • Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge- Château de Vaudieu:

This main vintage of Vaudieu is composed of 80 % Grenache, 15 % Syrah and 5 % of Mourvèdre. This is a ripe, lush Châteauneuf, round and generous on the palate, with supple tannins. Black cherries bring out subtle nuances of herbs and spices on the slightly dusty finish. It's fun to drink now, but it'll still be as good in ten years or so.

  • Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc - Château de Vaudieu :

It presents notes of toasted cereals and flambéed orange zest like a sandwich around a wonderful core of melon and citrus fruit. Full-bodied and round, with a rich, silky texture and ample concentration. energy formidable. Expectations are high for this vintage in the future.

  • Châteauneuf du Pape "Val de Dieu" - Château de Vaudieu:

It contains about 60 % of Grenache, à aged in demi-muids, which gives it a light note of toasted almonds suspicions of mocha and vanilla on ripe cherries. The oak is quite affordable, not dominant, and allows the red fruits and sweet herbaceous nuances to shine clearly on the long, silky finish.

  • Châteauneuf du Pape l'avenue - Château de vaudieu:

It shows a little warmth which comes out of the alcohol on the finish. Full-bodied concentration, terribly ripe tannins and an open, generous palate, as well as breathtaking aromas of cherries and raspberries tinged with vanilla and notes of cocoa. If you are more tolerant of alcoholyou'll be ready to drink it now, and just a little longer. fees

  • Châteauneuf du Pape "Amiral G" - Château de vaudieu:

This is a very ripe but sweet beast of a wine with layers of dark cherries and dark chocolate swirling together with melted tannins. Full-bodied and supple, it is quite rich on the palate and not suitable for introverted wine lovers. It has a warm alcoholic character and notes of dried fruit on the palate. There's no doubting this wine's appeal.

  • Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc Les Clairettes de Gabriel :

This vintage is certainly more conjectural than normal. It's breathtaking, barrel-fermented and aged for eight months in new oak. Notes of smoke, toast and grilled citrus fruit mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is crisp and concentrated, with a hint of white peach, finishing with mouth-watering acidity and extraordinary length.

  • Châteauneuf du Pape "Les vieilles Roussanne" Château de Vaudieu:

It has a not-so-subtle dark straw hue, with toasty, honeyed aromas evident alongside notes of mocha and malt. It is fully fermented and aged in barrelfull-bodied on the palate with a velvety texture and flavours of mandarin and pineapple with remarkable freshness and verve on the finish persistent. A wine with a long finish.
